Art Deco

Art Deco crystallized in the 1920s as a bold, geometric counterpoint to the organic curves of Art Nouveau. Drawing from Cubism, Futurism, and ancient Egyptian motifs, it celebrated the machine age with sharp angles, chevrons, sunbursts, and streamlined forms. In commercial print, Art Deco produced iconic travel posters, luxury brand advertisements, and magazine covers that defined the visual language of the Jazz Age and interwar period.
